Jonathan Wainwright’s mother was a midwestern raised, classically educated artist, writer, teacher, musician and actress possessing an operatic soprano voice. His father was from the deep south, a Vietnam vet educated with the GI Bill after leaving school and joining the army to help his family, a carpenter and master mechanic who could whistle whole albums and sing in a country tenor that would make Willie and Hank jealous. Jonathan Lesley Wainwright, the actor, artist, wood worker, singer, gardener, husband and lover of two feline trouble makers, named after a WWII hero, came from this unlikely union, and that complexity, diversity, creativity and grounded passion flow through everything he does. He bring’s it to the stage, the screen, the recording studio he built in his basement, even his garage where he builds unique cedar planters and refinishes antiques. That’s where he came from. That’s who he is. That’s what he brings.
